The best hitting stretch of his college career has helped Anchorage’s Willy Homza get on track at Brown University.
The Ivy League player from Alaska went 8-for-17 over the last week to raise his batting average 45 points to .250 after 26 games with the NCAA D1 school.
Homza, a 2-year Alaska Baseball Academy member, leads Brown with eight doubles and is third with 25 hits.
The junior shortstop has one home run, 11 RBIs, 11 runs and three stolen bases.
Defensively, he owns a .941 fielding percentage on 118 total chances and has a hand in 17 double plays.
